Welcome to MOT 2020/21

The MMOC has recently received the very sad news that one of our stalwart team of MOT organisers has passed away. Chris Kinloch was well known in the MOT fraternity and the wider MMOC as the owner of possibly the only sage green Traveller in existence. Chris was a passionate advocate of all that MOT and the MMOC stood for and played a full and active part, along with his wife Helen, and Helen and Pete Cosslett in making sure that each MOT was enjoyable and memorable for all who attended. His calm demeanour and attention to detail will leave a huge gap and will be sorely missed. Our deepest condolences, our thoughts and our prayers are with Helen and the family at this difficult and painful time and we stand ready to be of assistance in any way we can. Thanks so much for everything you did, Chris.

If you wish to send a condolence card, they can be posted to Mrs H Kinloch, Beech House, Little Orchard Court, Andover. SP10 2NY. In the meantime, we would be grateful if any queries relating to MOT 2021 or relating to MOT in general are, in the first instance, directed to admin@mmoc.org.uk

This year's 38th MOT will be held in the Loire Valley, which is a UNESCO world Heritage site famed for its historic towns, chateaux and vineyards. It is a relatively short trip: 271k from Ouistreham (Caen),or 535k from Calais. The region was last visited by MOT in 1996 and we will be making a welcome return to the area.

We have chosen the location Domaine de la Breche which is only 10 minutes by car from the town of Saumur. This is a five star campsite set in 50 acres of woodland along the banks of the river. It has been run by the Saint Cast family for many years and is part of the Sunelia chain of holiday parks. As well as having a first-class restaurant, the site has a well-stocked shop where each morning freshly baked bread and croissants will be available. There is also a bar and takeaway which will be open throughout our stay.

The site features a swimming pool, a fishing lake, stables with ponies and archery. Young children are well catered for. We have reserved the majority of mobiles with Eurocamp and they will hold until Christmas. There is a selection of 2 and 3 bedroomed accommodation but we would recommend sharing if you are thinking of coming with friends. (They will provide 2 keys). We have managed to reserve 40 camping pitches with the site until Christmas. The campsite has its own mobile homes BUT note that these can only be booked from the Sunday 24 th May, due to the Ascension Day holiday, or for a longer period including 20 th to the 23 rd May.
